Created, designed, and developed the Universal Application System (UAS) with my business partner Nathan Garn. The UAS is an enterprise software system that radically simplifies the process of applying for health-care assistance. After we presented the UAS to health-care professionals, the rights to use the software were purchased by Utah State University (USU).
The UAS has grown rapidly from its presentation by two BYU students at small meetings to being presented by USU at Capital Hill in Salt Lake City. On October 20, 2005, Nathan and I were featured in the Salt Lake Tribune, which describes how the UAS dramatically increases efficiency in applying for health-care programs. The article points out how other states, including Indiana, Kansas, and Arizona, have expressed interest in adopting the software. The Tribune article describes a study that was carried out in which âa whopping 98 percent of those (that used the UAS) . . . said they would recommend it to others.â
